‘Downton Abbey’ meets ‘Brigerton’ in this historically-based TV series.

Follow Chicago’s wealthiest families as they flee the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, scrambling to rebuild their lives - and mansions - on the shores of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, nicknamed ‘Newport of the West.’

Mixing in stories of the blue-collar locals and the area’s Native American past with real Chicago families and historical events, this 5-season series centers on the fictional Hutchinson family, led by widower and successful businessman Charles, who escapes to Lake Geneva with his four, single daughters on the night of the Great Fire. The privileged young women feel out of place in such a rustic setting, but romantic intrigues and new friendships soon make life at the lake more appealing. Meanwhile, Charles and other Chicago business leaders scramble to rebuild their beloved city from the ashes.
